The Walrus Cover
CARD NAME: The Walrus Cover
SUIT: Illustration & Editorial

OBJECTIVE
For the third project, the designer created a magazine cover illustration for The Walrus, accompanying an article that exposes the troubling number of Canadians who have died while waiting for health care. The chosen color palette, deep green and muted red, was carefully selected to evoke psychological tension. The green evokes the sterile calmness of a waiting room, but with a deeper undertone of stagnation and despair. In contrast, the muted red signals urgency, danger, and emotional distress, echoing the high stakes of delayed medical treatment.
